BIODEGRADABLE clothing:
Biodegradable fibres allow clothes to entirely decompose in less than 3 months under the right conditions or in up to 3-5 years without residues. This technology not only promotes biodegradation in landfills, but also in the oceans through the degradation of microplastics in the soil as well as in the water. In order to provide sustainability with their products, PROTECTIVE has developed fabrics that are made of 100% biodegradable polyester. The inside/insulation of single parts was optimised using 100% Comfortemp Lyocell, so that it biodegrades completely in the soil within 57 days. Small features like zippers, labels and yarn are also important for a closed circuit, which is why all those details are based on organic materials. With regards to design and packaging, PROTECTIVE uses organic dyes that are safely biodegraded, decolourised and mineralised.
